FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- Charismatic, ambitious and innovative are just a few words that can be used to describe up and coming Chicago R&B singer, Sennia. Stepping on the scene with clever lyricism, magnetic delivery, efficient wordplay and irresistible charm has earned her acclaim from fans and critics alike.
Raised in the small town of Carbondale, it was at the age of five that Sennia's parents discovered she could sing during a church service. Years later when she began middle school, Sennia's teachers began to note that she had a knack for writing. It was at this time that she would begin to write short stories and lyrics, fantasizing about one day becoming a renowned artist. Learning to play the acoustic guitar was first on Sennia's list of musical goals at the age of 16 and that's exactly what she did. Anxious to be in front of an audience, she soon managed to get on stage for her high school talent show. Then, by a stroke of luck, she was blessed to snag 2 supporting roles in musicals around the community, drawing praise and accolades for her voice as well as her acting chops from theater fans.
Modeling would become a interest for Sennia as soon as she graduated high school and over the next three years she began to pursue photo shoots with different photographers. However, It was in 2014 that Sennia decided to take a leap of faith and drop her first single, "The Way You Got Me". The record received such a positive response she immediately began to plan for the release of an EP. With this, the year proved to be very eventful, as she began to perform in and around Chicago, making a name for herself.
As of late, Sennia's accomplishments include blog features on sites like THISIS50, Top40 Charts, & Music Industry News. Opening up for Stunt Taylor, Butta Da Great, and many others has helped her master her sound and interviews for Brash Blog's "Artist Spotlight" and Lil E Films has encouraged a strengthened media presence. The start of the new year brought blessings of an Akademia Award for Sennia's second single entitled, "Jupiter" and introspective collabs with artists such as, Greggo5Mill, Mikke Ripper, and the multitalented late Reggie Loc. If that wasn't enough, Sennia has many new and exciting ventures soon to be disclosed.
So what should you expect this year from this multi-talented songstress? Well, not only a long awaited EP release, "Tenacity", but also music videos, and performances across the US.
Sennia credits the music of Michael Jackson, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Phil Collins, and Phyllis Hyman as just a few of the legends that have served as a foundation, inspiring her musical pursuit.
